About this event
One of 806 upcoming events at Maryland-National Capital Park, and 2,876 across Washington.
This performance is part of our Education on Stage/Field Trip Series and is recommended for children in PreK-Grade 5. Introduce young audiences to the magic of classical Indian dance with Prakriti Dance Company in this special Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Heritage Month performance. In Nature Stories from the Panchatantra, Prakriti Dance presents a collection of stories that explore the essence of nature alongside enduring moral values and life lessons. Rooted in the rich Indian Classical Dance tradition of Kuchipudi, this performance brings each narrative to life through expressive storytelling, with intricate hand gestures (mudras), nuanced facial expressions (abhinaya), and dialogue. The stories reflect themes such as compassion, integrity, harmony with nature, and the choices that shape human life.
