The program opens with the intense Coriolanus Overture, followed by Symphony No. 1, a work that reveals the bold voice of a young composer pushing the boundaries of classical form. The evening concludes with the monumental Piano Concerto No. 5, often called the “Emperor,” performed by pianist Maxim Lando.
