About this event
One of 3 upcoming events at Matawan Historical Society.
Back by popular demand! On October 30th, we will be hosting ghost stories around the fire in the Burrowes Mansion backyard — with a twist: this year we’re adding historic Halloween parlor games and some entertaining fortune telling based on Victorian party practices. Plus, Historical Costume contest – Prizes for Most Historically, Spookiest, and Most Creative/Original. Bring your own tales of Matawan hauntings, mayhem, and the elusive spirits of Matawan Creek. (Also, feel free to bring your own chairs and blankets.) Member tickets available through emailed link until 10/16/2026 noon, followed by general sales. Note: This is an outdoor-only event; no tours will be given in the Burrowes Mansion. Subject to cancellation in case of inclement weather.
