Watercolors & Monotypes: County Mayo, Ireland Show Dates March 4th-April 29th, 2026 Opening Reception March 13th 5-8 PM Gallery Hours Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM Saturdays March 14 & 21, 12 to 5 PM The dramatic beauty of Ireland’s west coast has inspired many an artist!  The Ballinglen Arts Foundation, located in the town of Ballycastle, Co Mayo, offers workshops and residencies.  Local artists Catherine Kernan, Jane Goldman, and Wendy Prellwitz have deep connections there, traveling multiple times over many years to do their work. Watercolors & Monotypes features a small selection of works created independently and at workshops there.  At a recent workshop in 2025, led by Wendy, Cynthia Smith & Mara Callahan painted watercolors in the landscape, which inspired watercolor monotypes, printed in the Foundation’s print shop.  In 2019, Jane Goldman led a watercolor workshop with Diane Norris and Chris Pullman.  Jane and Catherine’s work reflect their strong attachment to Mayo’s amazing landscape, in both watercolor and watercolor monotype.  All of the artists also have connections with the Maria L. Baldwin Community Center and are strong advocates for supporting the arts.
