Call of the Wild at Gateway Trailhead Sonoran wildlife are communicating–we just don’t speak the language, yet. The Sonoran desert may look quiet, but wildlife is constantly communicating within and between species. Discover how coyotes, hawks, woodpeckers, kangaroo rats, and rattlesnakes use sight, sound, scent, movement, and vibration to survive. This engaging science-based program reveals the hidden language of desert animals and helps you to recognize wildlife signals on your next McDowell Sonoran Preserve hike. Restrooms and water at the trailhead. Bring water and snacks for the trail. No dogs please. Arrive 15 minutes before start of hike. Space is limited! Please save your spot with the RSVP below.
