Women’s Bike Ride

Women’s Bike Ride (Beg.) from Brown’s Ranch Trailhead. Distance & Elevation Gain: This will be appx 9 miles with 400 feet of elevation gain at a slower and easier beginner pace. Difficulty Level: This beginner level ride will take appx 3 hours, with some moderate climbs on easier trails. We’ll be making several stops for rest and to get to know our fellow riders. All our rides are “No Drop” meaning no rider will be left behind the group. Description of the Ride: This all-women’s mountain bike ride is designed to give you a positive ride experience in a beginner-friendly environment. From the trailhead we will ride several miles into the Preserve on some of the best trails in Browns Ranch. We will adjust the route and pace based on the group. We also may split into two groups to accommodate riders of different speeds. Conservancy stewards will lead this ride and focus on everyone riding safely at an enjoyable pace. Group events with your fellow women riders are fun! Come out and join us in the beautiful Sonoran Desert. Mountain Bike Event Requirements: Helmets are mandatory for all bike events. A mountain bike with wide knobby tires is required – please, no road bikes, hybrids, or folding bikes. Your bike must be in good working order – please check the tires, brakes, chain and general functionality before leaving home. E-bikes are allowed. You are expected to ride at the group speed and be cautious about passing or encountering others on the trails. What to Bring: A backpack with 2-3 liters of water, spare tubes and tools plus energy snacks. Restrooms are available at the trailhead. It’s always smart to have a paper map or mapping app in case you get separated from the group. Arrive 15 minutes before start of the ride for check-in and a brief bike inspection. Space is limited!
