Artist: Avery Sharpe Get ready for an unforgettable afternoon of jazz with Avery Sharpe, one of the most accomplished bassists and composers of his generation. A former longtime member of McCoy Tyner’s legendary ensemble, Sharpe has performed and recorded with some of the biggest names in jazz—from Dizzy Gillespie and Art Blakey to Wynton Marsalis. But his artistry goes far beyond the bass – a prolific composer, Sharpe creates powerful musical portraits that celebrate history, culture, and the human experience. Now, he brings that extraordinary talent to Worcester, performing on the Mechanics Hall stage. Time: Doors 11:30am | Show at Noon Audience: All Ages The Brown Bag Concert Series, presented by Mechanics Hall and 90.5 FM WICN, has been a beloved tradition in Worcester since 1983. These hour-long concerts by acclaimed regional and national performers are held in the Great Hall on select Wednesdays from noon to 1pm. Cabaret-style seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. All concerts are free, open to the public, and subject to change. The accessible entrance to Mechanics Hall is located on Waldo Street. Elevators are located in the ground-floor lobby and provide access to the second and third floors.
