Artist: BT ALC Small Band Spawning from BT ALC Big Band, BT ALC Small Band is a unit smaller in size, that packs the same punch of hard hitting grooves and virtuosic solos that keep the audience mesmerized! Their repertoire has been reimagined to fit the 7 piece lineup allowing for more possibilities to explore and improvise. Since the group’s formation in 2010, BT ALC Big Band, led by trombonist Brian Thomas and trumpeter Alex Lee-Clark, have gained a reputation for hard grooving original compositions featuring the most talented jazz and funk musicians in Boston and beyond. BT ALC Big Band draws from the big band traditions of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Thad Jones and infuses music from funk legends like James Brown, Parliament Funkadelic, and The Meters, creating an undeniably unique sound, Big Band Funk. Time: Doors 11:30am | Show at Noon Audience: All Ages The Brown Bag Concert Series, presented by Mechanics Hall and 90.5 FM WICN, has been a beloved tradition in Worcester since 1983. These hour-long concerts by acclaimed regional and national performers are held in the Great Hall on select Wednesdays from noon to 1pm. Cabaret-style seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. All concerts are free, open to the public, and subject to change. The accessible entrance to Mechanics Hall is located on Waldo Street. Elevators are located in the ground-floor lobby and provide access to the second and third floors.
