Renowned for her dazzling technique, lyrical artistry, and dynamic performances, Miwa has earned widespread critical acclaim and a devoted international following. She was named a Rising Star Pianist in the 2022, 2023, and 2024 DownBeat Critics Polls. The Yoko Miwa Trio is celebrated for its remarkable musical telepathy and infectious energy. Their 2021 release, Songs of Joy, reached #1 on national jazz radio charts and was voted one of the best jazz albums of the year in DownBeat’s 86th Annual Readers Poll. These hour-long concerts by acclaimed regional and national performers are held in the Great Hall on select Wednesdays from noon to 1pm. Cabaret-style seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. All concerts are free, open to the public, and subject to change. The accessible entrance to Mechanics Hall is located on Waldo Street. Elevators are located in the ground-floor lobby and provide access to the second and third floors.
