Impressionist Painting for Beginners (39F26)

Join the waitlist September 28–November 23, 2026 9 weeks, Mondays Taught by: Joan Nichols Learn to paint expressively with beautiful, bright colors in this Beginner Modern Impressionist class! Joan will guide you through the French Impressionists’ four-step process, using acrylics instead of oil paints. Explore color mixing, the differences between transparent and opaque paint, draw charcoal, quick sketches, create under-paintings, learn to “re-establish the line,” and complete your piece with opaque paints. You’ll transform from art newbie into mini-Monet while painting simple landscapes and lush florals! Materials Students need to purchase materials for this class. Registration Information Registration for this program starts on Tuesday, August 18, at 10:00 am for MAG Members, and Tuesday, August 25, at 10:00 am for Not-Yet-Members. Online registration ends on Saturday, September 26, at 1:30 pm. Programs with inadequate enrollment are canceled one week before the first meeting.
