Spoonbill Gallery presents “Forest for the Trees,” a solo exhibition by Asheville NC painter, Moni Hill. This body of work invites viewers to consider what might happen when we stop seeing nature as separate from ourselves and begin to understand ourselves as participants in nature. “I used to think of the forest as something I walked through. Over time, I began to understand that I was not separate from it—I was part of it. These paintings are an invitation to slow down, look closely, and perhaps recognize our own place within that living system,” says Hill. That shift in perspective is at the heart of Forest for the Trees. Join us for an Artist Reception with Moni Hill on Friday, November 6, from 6-9PM during First Fridays. Guests will have the opportunity to meet Moni, observe Moni’s landscapes through abstraction, light, and color, and appreciate how she transformed details from her walks into richly layered visual experiences.
