Brahms and Schoenfeld Favorites

About this event
One of 43 upcoming events at Midsummer's Music.
Saving the best for last, we bring back our most requested piece of music – Paul Schoenfield’s Café Music. Jazzy, whimsical, tender… it will touch you and leave a big smile on your face. The program concludes with what may be Brahms’ most beloved chamber music work – his First Piano Quartet, which is sometimes called the “Hungarian.” Plan to take this one in at our festive and exuberant Labor Day Gala at Bjorklunden, a terrific way to salute the summer season, or catch the same program at two other locations. But catch it for sure – it’s not to be missed! Preludio et Fughetta in G Minor, Op. 68 – Laura Netzel (1839-1927) Violin, Cello, and Piano Preludio: Lento ma non troppo Fughetto: Tempo giusto Café Music (1986) – Paul Schoenfeld (b. 1947) Violin, Cello, and Piano Allegro Andante rubato Presto Intermission Quartet No. 1 in G Minor, Op. 25 – Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) Piano, Violin, Viola, and Cello Allegro Intermezzo; Allegro ma non troppo Andante con moto Rondo alla Zingarese Reserve Tickets
