Flag Books

Thursday, April 30; 6–9pm CT Learn to make a Flag Book, an innovative and adaptable book structure that uses an accordion spine and attachable "flag" pages In this in-person workshop, make two versions of this book—a traditional style and a variation that allows pages of the book to be recombined in exciting ways. Spend time generating content for your book, then finish it with a covered board binding. Participants may want to bring along photos, collage materials, concert tickets, playing cards, lines from a favorite poem, or other small pieces of paper to use as "flags" in their books. Level: Beginners. All levels are welcome. Certificate: 3 hours, Category B or D Pricing $70 | $35 Scholarship | $105 Pay-It-Forward $20 materials fee Scholarships are available for individuals facing adversity as it relates to identity, income/wealth, and lack of access to arts resources. The Pay-It-Forward rate (tuition, plus 50%) supports MCBA’s efforts to make scholarships available.
