Saturday, May 30; 2–3:30pm CT Join instructor Shawn Sheehy (a Fire Horse!) in celebrating your astrological luck with an energetic and cheerful pop-up! Are you energetic, cheerful, talented, and popular? Are you a trailblazer who moves boldly forward without fear of obstacles? If so, it's possible you were born in the Chinese Year of the Horse. This virtual workshop only requires a handful of tools and a kit of pre-cut pieces, which includes light coverage of general paper engineering principles. After the cards are constructed, you are encouraged to remain for an in-depth discussion into how the horse was developed. Level: Intermediate. Participants must have built at least one pop-up structure to qualify for this particularly fussy session. You do not need to be a Fire Horse to participate. Certificate: 1.5 hours, Category B, C, or D Pricing $55 | $28 Scholarship | $83 Pay-It-Forward Materials Fee: $15* Scholarships are available for individuals facing adversity as it relates to identity, income/wealth, and lack of access to arts resources. The Pay-It-Forward rate (tuition, plus 50%) supports MCBA’s efforts to make scholarships available. We leave it to you to choose the rate that is meaningful to you based on your income, wealth, and privilege status. MCBA members receive a 10% discount on tuition. *Shipping available within the US only What you'll need to participate Tech requirements: For this participatory virtual workshop, we recommend joining on a laptop or desktop computer with a camera, microphone, and strong internet connection.
