About this event
One of 169 upcoming events at Mission Trails Lake Murray - La Mesa, and 5,048 across San Diego.
Description: Join members of the San Diego Astronomy Association for a monthly Star Party at Mission Trails Regional Park. Guests can view the nighttime sky through telescopes set up at the far end of the Kumeyaay Lake Campground’s Day-Use Parking Lot. Important parking information: Star Party guests should park in the Bushy Hill Parking Lot outside of the campground and walk to the viewing area. Please do not park in or drive through the Day-Use Parking Lot, where the San Diego Astronomy Association sets up its telescopes. Vehicle traffic can kick up dust that may damage telescope equipment and reduce visibility for stargazing. Pro tip: Bring a headlamp or flashlight with a red-light setting for the walk in. Red light helps preserve your night vision and makes it easier to enjoy the stars once you arrive. Rain, cloudy skies or other weather conditions may cancel the event. Date / Time: First Friday of each month, beginning at Sunset. Cancellations due to weather may occur. Location: Kumeyaay Lake Campground Two Father Junipero Serra Trail San Diego, CA 92119 The SDAA holds a monthly Star Party at Mission Trails Regional Park (MTRP) on the first Friday of every month at the Kumeyaay Lake Campground on the Santee side of MTRP. They set up at dusk in the day-use parking lot, which is just to the right after you enter the campground.
