National Folk Festival Performances

National Folk Festival at MCM: Jeghetto’s Recycled Puppet Theater As part of the National Folk Festival, the Mississippi Children’s Museum is proud to welcome acclaimed puppeteer Jeghetto (Tarish Pipkins) for two special performances on Friday, November 13, at 10:00 am and 11:30 am. Inspired by a conversation with Fred Rogers, Jeghetto creates remarkable puppets from recycled materials and brings them to life through captivating storytelling, humor, and imagination. Audiences will meet unforgettable characters including a dinosaur, a dreadlocked cellist, and an Afro-futurist robot—while discovering how creativity, sustainability, and artistic expression can transform everyday objects into extraordinary works of art. This special National Folk Festival performance is made possible through the generous support of Amazon. LEARN MORE ABOUT THE 2026 FOLK FESTIVAL! PURCHASE TICKETS TO THE MUSEUM!
