FIRE Community Portrait Session

Mixed Magic Theatre invites the community to step into the frame for a special FIRE Community Portrait Session–a day of instant portraits, conversation, and support for the theatre’s ongoing programming. FIRE (Framing Instant Relief and Empowerment) is a community portrait project that transforms the act of having your picture taken into a direct opportunity to give back. For this special session, participants will make a donation to Mixed Magic Theatre, with proceeds supporting the theatre and its programming. In return, participants will sit for two instant portraits made using vintage 4×5 cameras and instant film, with one print to take home. The process is simple and personal: make a donation, step in front of the camera, and leave with a one-of-a-kind portrait. The instant-film format makes the experience immediate and tangible, creating a small photographic keepsake while connecting each portrait to a larger act of community support. More than a portrait session, FIRE is a gathering—a chance to spend the day at Mixed Magic Theatre, see familiar faces, meet new ones, support local arts, and become part of an evolving portrait archive built through participation.
