Artist Workshop: Fabric dyeing with indigo

Join Open AIR Artist-in-Residence Sarah McMurry for aFabric dyeing workshopThis workshop will cover indigo dyeing using an iron indigo vat, where we will learn how to dye fabric various shades of blue. Through historic folding methods called Shibori, we will learn how to create patterns on the cloth. By the end of the workshop, each person will have created their own indigo-dyed handkerchief to keep. If people have smaller items they would like over-dyed, there will be an opportunity to dye them as well.
