Contra Dancing

The dancing starts at 7:30 p.m. and lasts until approximately 10:30 with a midway break for potluck snacks. We will start with beginner-friendly dances. Please bring clean, soft-soled shoes for the dance. Visit our contacts page to link to a real human being if you have questions. Vaccinations are recommended and masking with KN95 or similar masks is encouraged but not required. Location: 2nd floor of the War Memorial Building at the corner of German and King Street in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. The caller will walk you through each dance and many of the movements. Experienced dancers will delight in sharing their experience and they love to bring in new folks as well as see familiar faces! NO PARTNER NECESSARY! That’s a dancing tradition; partners mingle and dance with others throughout the evening.
