Over the years, the tradition grew from MBT’s 150-seat Harold & Irene Walton Theatre to selling out the Main Stage. Now, for the 20th Anniversary, get ready for a night of wild entertainment with The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Mount Baker Theatre! In the tradition of flashback cinema showings worldwide, follow squeaky clean sweethearts Brad and Janet on an adventure they’ll never forget as they encounter the scandalous Dr. Frank-N-Furter, rippling Rocky, and vivacious Columbia. Get ready for a night of fun, frivolity, and fetish as Bellingham’s boldest actors bring the cult classic’s characters to life in front of the movie screen. Bursting at the seams with timeless classics, including “Sweet Transvestite,” “Dammit Janet” and, of course, the pelvic-thrusting “Time Warp.” The best part of The Rocky Horror Picture Show is the audience participation — callbacks, toast-throwing, and glove-snapping are all part of the tantalizing experience. Some common virgin games include: Virgin Sacrifice: Newcomers to the screening, often referred to as “virgins,” are invited to come up to the front of the theater and participate in an initiation ceremony. Audience Callbacks: Throughout the film, audience members shout out witty and often risqué responses to the dialogue on screen. Prop Use: Audience members often bring various props to the screening, such as toast, rice, playing cards, and water pistols. These props are used at specific moments during the film to mimic actions on screen or enhance certain scenes.
