About this event
One of 3 upcoming events at Mount Tabor Historical Society, and 1,376 across North Jersey.
Join us for a spooky presentation at the Mount Tabor Tabernacle by Bob Gleason of the American Historical Theater. He will portray Edgar Allan Poe with vivid images, terrifying tales, heart-thumping excitement, and insights of the mind behind the writer. Mr. Gleason’s portrayal of the Edgar Allan Poe digs deep into the writer’s complex mind and psyche to bring his haunting imagery, chilling stories, and suspenseful imagination to life. It also explores Poe’s work as both a literary critic and editor, as well as his determination to make a living from his writing. We’ll learn about Poe’s role as a pioneer in detective fiction (the reason the Edgar Awards bear his name) while exploring the human figure behind the legend: a passionate poet, devoted husband, and troubled soul. Edgar Allan Poe’s literary legacy belongs in every season, but especially the spooky one. Programs like this are made possible through the support of the Mount Tabor Historical Society and our community partners. The Mount Tabor Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving, educating, and celebrating the history of our remarkable corner of New Jersey. Want to Get Involved?
