The Mount Tabor House Tour is the Historical Society’s largest annual fundraiser — and one of the most charming events in Morris County. This self-guided, walkable tour takes you inside more than 15 privately owned Victorian cottages in the Mount Tabor Historic District, a National Register community unlike anywhere else in New Jersey. Wander at your own pace through delightful hidden gardens, admire the elaborate gingerbread woodwork that defines Mount Tabor’s architecture, and discover why this former Methodist camp meeting ground has captivated visitors for more than 150 years. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 the day of the tour. Continue reading to learn how to purchase your tickets. All tours begin at the check-in table near the Old Firehouse on Simpson Avenue, where you can pick up your printed tour booklet and self-guided map. Houses and gardens may be visited in any order, at any time during the event window — go at your own pace and linger as long as you like. Visitors are strongly encouraged to park at Mount Tabor Elementary School on Park Road (GPS: 864 Park Road, Morris Plains, NJ). A free shuttle runs continuously from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm and drops off near the Old Firehouse check-in location. Tickets are $35 in advance (plus $2 processing fee if purchased online) and $40 the day of the tour. Advance tickets are available through midnight, September 24. All sales are final — no refunds. Tickets are not mailed; your name and ticket number will be on the list at the welcome table. Send a check payable to Mount Tabor Historical Society with a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Mount Tabor Historical Society – House Tour P.O. Box 271, Mount Tabor, NJ 07878 Payment must be received by September 19. No processing fee for mail-in orders. Tickets available at the welcome table near the Old Firehouse on Simpson Avenue. If you have questions or need more information, please call 973-975-0001 or email [email protected] Programs like this are made possible through the support of the Mount Tabor Historical Society and our community partners.
