Art Classes Arts & Culture

Cost of Admission: $10 for non-members; free for members. Registration is required. This is an in person event. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS EVENT Make a painting of trees with Betsy Jacks, artist and former Director of the Thomas Cole National Historic Site. There is no prior experience necessary for this two-hour workshop except for a love of trees and a desire to create a painting that captures that love. Betsy has developed methods that make the creative process easier, by-passing the parts of art-making that can be frustrating, such as getting the underlying drawing “right” and making the image look realistic right away. All the needed materials will be provided including a choice of several tree images to use, tools to transfer the image onto the painting surface, paints, brushes and detailed instructions. Participants will leave the workshop with a painting that is either finished or well underway so that it can be completed at home. Betsy is on a mission to make painting easier and more fun! Join this inspiring morning of art-making. The workshop will be limited to 12 people.
