Extend the celebration of Arbor Day and join us for a fresh, practical introduction to caring for the trees in your own backyard. This new class reexamines what homeowners truly need to know— the fundamentals of tree care topics designed to address the real-world scenarios homeowners encounter but often feel underprepared to manage. Starting with a basic tree and site inspection, common problems with structure and health will be examined, and options for solving them will be presented. From understanding the significance of the observations made to knowing when to call a professional, this class equips homeowners with the confidence to make informed decisions about their landscape. The Arboriculture Team at Mt. Cuba will share from their experience in the public garden setting and production arboriculture, leading the session with energy, clarity, and practical insight. Participation in a hands-on perspective helps demystify tree care and empowers participants to better support the long-term health of their trees. Class will be held entirely outdoors and will involve walking on rolling and mulched paths. Make sure to dress for terrain and weather. 🥬 New class 🥬 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) available This program takes place in-person at Mt. Cuba Center Friday, May 1, 2026.
