The Museum of Coastal Carolina will celebrate Earth Day all week by investigating STEM careers. Guests are invited to participate in hands-on activities exploring a variety of STEM careers that help to keep our planet clean. From ichthyologist to entymologist and more, experience a variety of ways scientists investigate our planet and what we can do to help. Activities include: Sea Turtle Biologist – excavate a model sea turtle nest after it has hatched like a sea turtle biologist Ichthyologist – analyze and label the parts of a perch Veterinary technician – investigate animal x-rays and record what you see Entomologist – search for and identify different types of insects Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally through earthday.org.
