About this event
Coyotes have become the primary predator of loggerhead sea turtle nests on Bald Head Island (BHI), North Carolina. This lecture, from BHI’s Beth Darrow, will cover the history of coyote research on BHI, as the BHI Conservancy and collaborators have worked towards understanding the behavior and ecology of coyotes, balancing protecting sea turtles and managing this extremely adaptable species. Beth Darrow is the Director of Science at Bald Head Island Conservancy, a small conservation nonprofit on Bald Head Island, NC. Beth’s expertise is in marine ecology and barrier island science and conservation.
