Be among the first to experience the MFA’s captivating new exhibition, New African Masquerades: Artistic Innovations and Collaborations, before it opens to the public on August 15. Spend an elevated evening immersed in the vibrant artistry of contemporary African masquerade traditions, accompanied by the infectious rhythms of Afrobeats from DJ Nilla Green. Adult admission includes a signature house-made spritz from Café Clementine, thoughtfully crafted for the occasion. Enjoy a curated selection of organic wines, local Green Bench beer, and an array of artfully prepared savory and sweet bites, available for purchase, during the café’s L’Apéro hours. Art After Dark occurs on Thursday evenings throughout the year, with discounted admission, special programming, engaging docent-led tours, and more. BECOME A MEMBER Nilla Green, DJ Nilla Green is a Tampa-based music producer, DJ, and artist with Caribbean-American roots. Blending House, Afrobeat, Amapiano, Latin, Pop, RnB, and Hip hop, their genre-defying sound is driven by instinct and creativity. Known for Impactful DJ sets and constantly evolving music, Nilla Green brings fresh perspectives to every performance and collaboration. Always creating new material, he is dedicated to pushing boundaries and delivering unforgettable musical experiences. New African Masquerades: Artistic Innovations and Collaborations is organized by the New Orleans Museum of Art, in partnership with Musée des Civilisations noires in Dakar, Senegal, and received generous support from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
