Summer Camps at the MFA: Art Lab

It’s a week of experimentation in the art lab! Choose from one of five day camps, or choose them all. From painting and printmaking to archaeology and science experiments, young artists will explore creativity through hands-on artmaking inspired by history, innovation, and discovery. The Art Lab camp is designed for ages 11-13. Scholarships may be available through the St. Pete Arts Alliance’s Funding Futures Program for eligible students ages 10–17 to attend summer camps, including MFA Art Lab. Learn more here. Mon, July 27 – Fri, July 31, 9 AM – 4 PM Day Price: $55 MFA Members; $65 Not-Yet-Members Week Price: $240 MFA Members; $290 Not-Yet-Members REGISTER FOR THE FULL CAMP Day 1 | July 27 – Creative Canvases Get ready to paint! Explore types of paintings throughout history as inspiration for your own painting style. REGISTER FOR DAY 1 Day 2 | July 28 – Upcycled Artmaking Discover how everyday items can be repurposed to make art by using recyclable materials and found objects to make your own mini art museum. REGISTER FOR DAY 2 Day 3 | July 29 – Printmaking You won’t believe how many ways art prints can be created. Make your own unique block prints, cyanotypes, and even art stamped from Lego pieces! REGISTER FOR DAY 3 Day 4 | July 30 – Art and Archaeology Dig into this day camp, where you’ll learn to create like ancient artists. Excavate, document, and leave your own time capsule behind for future campers to discover! REGISTER FOR DAY 4 Day 5 | July 31 – Science and Art Exploration Challenge your creativity in artmaking by experimenting with the elements of art and science. You’ll use chemistry, paper circuits, and color theory to create your own unique work of art. REGISTER FOR DAY 5 Space is limited, and camps fill quickly.
