Each camp is eligible for CEU credit through Northwest Nazarene University. 2026 Educator Camp Lineup Seeds of Survival: Farming, Foraging & Food Safety One-day camp | 1 CEU Cost: $30 Location: Idaho Falls Time: 9 am – 6pm Seeds of Survival: Farming, Foraging & Food Safety is a one-day Educator Camp that immerses participants in the traditional and historical food practices of Idaho’s Shoshone-Bannock people, pioneer settlers, Basque herders, farmers, and ranchers. Using the “what if” catalyst of a world without modern conveniences, educators will explore how earlier generations sustained themselves through farming, foraging, preservation, and food safety practices. Through field walks, hands-on gardening, soil and plant science, and food preservation techniques, participants will uncover the scientific and cultural knowledge behind Idaho’s survival food traditions. By the end of the camp, educators will have classroom-ready lessons that connect cultural heritage, sustainability, and the science of food safety to inspire resilience and critical thinking in their students. Register Constellations and Culture: Exploring the Science and Stories of the Stars Three-day camp | 2 CEUs Cost: $50 Locations: Lava Hot Springs and Rexburg Constellations and Culture: Exploring the Science and Stories of the Stars is a three-day Educator Camp designed to immerse educators in both the scientific and cultural heritage of the night sky. Participants will explore how Indigenous peoples understand and relate to the night sky through perspectives on navigation, sovereignty, and cultural knowledge, as well as oral traditions, storytelling, and guidance on respectful and accurate classroom inclusion. Educators will also examine global star myths that have connected human communities to the cosmos. Through guided stargazing sessions, celestial mapping activities, and mythmaking workshops, participants will connect STEM concepts in astronomy with cultural narratives that inspire awe and wonder. By the end of the camp, educators will develop classroom-ready lessons that integrate science, history, and literature, using the stars as a bridge across disciplines.
