Suzann Henrikson, Museum of Idaho Research Archaeologist, and Dr. Daron Duke, owner of Far Western Anthropological Research Group, in learning about ancient Idaho at this rare after-hours event. Register Topics: Based on recent discoveries, archaeologists are beginning to understand the importance of the Desert West in the Ice Age peopling of the New World. The Snake River Plain and the Great Salt Lake Desert of northern Utah contain connecting archaeological records that are unique to North America. Mammoth, camel, and other now-extinct fauna were plentiful in these regions and may have been hunted by humans using a variety of stone tool technologies.
