About this event

March is Women’s History Month! Join us in celebrating and honoring the legacy of female trailblazers who built Riverside—both figuratively and literally. As part of our Nights with the Museum program series, we’re hosting “She Built This City: Women and the Making of Riverside,” a special conversation with local experts. Hear from contemporary powerhouses Dr. Paulette Brown-Hinds, Jennifer Mermilliod, Dr. Catherine Gudis, and Debbie Newton as they discuss women’s history and how the past has influenced modern times. Learn how women played a vital role in Riverside’s history as we uncover their previously unsung contributions. You’ll also have the chance to purchase the Riverside Historical Society’s “Anthology of Women in Riverside, California 1870–1970” to discover even more about the extraordinary women who made Riverside what it is today. Event details: “She Built This City: Women and the Making of Riverside” Thursday – March 26, 2026 from 6-7:30 p.m. Riverside Main Library Community Room 3900 Mission Inn Avenue, Riverside, CA 92501
