@ Grupo Asalto is the next wave. Saturday, December 5, 2026, they bring it to Mustang Lounge Bar in Weslaco. Entry is $20. Doors open at 7:00 PM. Asalto is a West Texas Tejano band built around Jordan Rodriguez — accordion and lead vocals. The name came from a hailstorm that felt like it was assaulting his truck. “Asalto” stuck. The sound is accordion-driven Tejano with norteño and modern edges, built on the bands they grew up on: Siggno, Intocable, Solido, La Firma, Los Palominos. Original material. Not a cover set. The songs that put them on radio are the reason this room will move. “Gracias a Ti.” “Te Quiero Amar.” “Te Traigo En La Mente.” “#Tú y Yo” with Cristina Salinas. The album Con Amor O Sin Amor…Seguiremos. The EP Más Fuerte Que Ayer. They played the Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair Hot Stage in March. They picked up Premios Tejano Mundial nominations.
