14th Annual Cine Magnífico Spanish-Language Film Festival: Techiq/Techiq Saturday, September 12, 2026 7:30 – 8:00 pm NHCC | Bank of America Theatre The Mexican fantastical drama Techiq traces the story of Margarita and Evaristo, a campesino couple living in the shadows of the Malintzin volcano that straddles Puebla and Tlaxcala. The two spend their days hoping to catch sight of the bird Techiq, since they know his appearance heralds the safe return of their migrant son. Yet days pass with little sign of hope. That is until one morning when Margarita falls ill, and a doubly distraught Evaristo sees a mysterious creature beckoning to him from the woods. In Macehual (Nahuatl) with Spanish subtitles.
