From National Bottle Museum

To kick off Blue Star Museum Welcome week, museum director Chris Leonard will be giving a talk on the History of American Military Canteens from the Civil War through WWI. The lecture will cover rustic stoneware and wooden canteens used early in the Civil War, then focus on the development of “standardized” M Series canteens. The talk is included with a regular museum admission and is free for active service people and their families, veterans and their families, and museum members.
