Opera Southwest: Boris Godunov February 14, 19, & 21 2027 2:00 pm Sundays and 7:30 pm Friday NHCC | Albuquerque Journal Theatre Music & Libretto / Modest Mussorgsky Power, Guilt, and a Haunted Crown Boris takes the Russian throne under the shadow of a murdered child, then spends his reign unravelling under his own guilt as the nation churns around him. Coronation bells, massed choruses, a crowd that becomes a character in its own right make this grand opera at full scale, and one of the summits of the bass-baritone repertoire. OSW favorite Timothy Mix takes on the tortured tsar.
