About this event
One of 54 upcoming events at National Museum of the Great Lakes.
Experience the Col. James M. Schoonmaker like never before with our new guided tours, offered every Thursday and Friday at 11:30 a.m. through the remainder of the season (October 31). Led by our knowledgeable museum staff, this 90-minute tour takes you beyond a self-guided visit, sharing the fascinating stories, history, and engineering behind one of the largest and most technologically advanced Great Lakes freighters of its time. Explore spaces throughout the 617-foot vessel, from the massive engine room to the pilothouse, while learning what life was like aboard this iconic ship, built in 1911. Guided tours are available as an add-on to museum ship admission. Tickets are $8 plus museum ship admission, or just $8 for museum members. Tours may be purchased at the museum front desk on the day of your visit. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-registration is not available.
