Tickets $10 General Admission | $5 Student | $0 NCHM Member GET TICKETS Historian Martha Doty Freeman will share her personal memories of the beginnings of the College of Fine Arts and Art Department, and of some favorite faculty members. Artwork connected to the lecture topic will be on view the day of the lecture throughout the Museum. To attend online, register and receive the Zoom meeting link by email ahead of the lecture. Note: For those attending in person, Katie Robinson Edwards, Executive Director of the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum, will lead a walking expedition to view Charles Umlauf and Seymour Fogel’s works on 22nd Street (approximately an 11 minute walk each way) after the lecture. About the Speaker Martha Doty Freeman Martha Doty Freeman is a freelance historian from Austin, TX. She holds a BA from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin and a MA in American Studies from The University of Texas at Austin. She has worked for decades on cultural resource management projects for archeological firms, government agencies and universities. Freeman is a member of the Texas State Historical Association and recipient of the Texas Historical Commission’s Award of Excellence in Preserving History. She is widely published and a frequent lecturer on a wide variety of topics connected to Texas and American history and the built environment. Sponsors Become a sponsor for this event?
