Cost and Registration: Cost: $10 Reservations required. Please email Ramit Ali at rali@nevadaculture.org The funds earned from this event will be given to our community partner, the Knights of Pythias, for the maintenance and care of the cemetery. Program Details: In the first half of the program, you will learn about the history of the Knights of Pythias fraternal order and what is involved in taking care of an active cemetery, as well as personal stories about some of Reno’s former residents, including Civil War veterans, families associated with the DAR, educators, judges, firefighters, and prominent members of the community. This part of the program will be a seated program inside their hall. In the second half of the program, there will be a guided tour through the cemetery. Due to the uneven and rocky ground of this historic cemetery, please wear appropriate closed-toed footwear; tennis shoes or boots are recommended. Due to the time of year, we recommend you bring a jacket or coat. Water will be provided. The Exploring Nevada – On The GO! series is an opportunity for the Nevada Historical Society to offer special off-site tours for people to learn more about their community, city and state. The program will be held at the Knights of Pythias Hall, located at 980 Nevada Street, Reno, Nevada, 89503.
