Birding Outing at the Massabesic Center

About this event
One of 24 upcoming events at New Hampshire Audubon.
This is an informal birding outing at NH Audubon’s Massabesic Center! We will meet at the front doors of the Massabesic Center, across the road from the parking lot. The Massabesic Wildlife Refuge is home to many species who prefer open space and forest edges. You may see species such as Eastern Bluebirds, Red-shouldered Hawks, and Bald Eagles in the fields and on the lake. This is an informal birding outing that begins at the parking lot and will continue for about a mile or two on the trails. All ages and skill levels of birders are welcome. If you are new to birding, come and learn the basics! If you are an avid birder, come to network with other birders, or share your expertise with the group. This is a free event. We will have some binoculars for folks to borrow, but if you have a pair, please feel free to bring them! Please dress for the weather, with sturdy shoes. Expect to traverse over varied trails with some elevation change through grassy and wooded terrain. Trails may be soggy or muddy in the rainy season. Also, as a reminder, prepare for the sun and any insects we might encounter. Dogs are not allowed on this walk. By attending this event, you and anyone you register on behalf of agree to NH Audubon’s Outdoor Education Program Liability Release & Agreement Waiver. Please contact Nicole Hertel with any questions. Birding Outings are free to attend. If you feel inspired to support New Hampshire Audubon’s work, please consider a gift to our Annual Fund at nhaudubon.org/donate. Your contribution supports priorities like environmental education for people of all ages across NH, stewardship of nearly 10,000 acres of conserved habitat, science-based environmental policy and advocacy, and statewide conservation research and wildlife monitoring.
