Fun & Games at the Farm! Children’s Day is a blast! Join us for childish play from yesteryear and learn about the important roles that children played on the farm. The whole day is packed with fun! DATE: Saturday June 20, 2026 TIME: 10:00 to 4:00 Featured musicians: TBA Games, Crafts, Activities, and Snacks! Try your hand at making old fashioned ice cream in our ice cream maker with heavy cream! Decorate a cookie with young Emma on the porch! There will be a pie eating contest for children ages 12 and under. Prizes awarded! Children’s day field races include: sack races, three-legged race, egg in a spoon race, wheelbarrow races, and more. Or join with family and friends in parachute games! Take a tractor ride to explore our 50 plus acres and meet our cows, sheep, and pigs as they graze in their pastures. Children will enjoy doing colonial chores as their colonial counterparts once did such as using a scrub board and a wringer washer to wash the clothes, pump water, or carry buckets with a wooden yoke. Our storyteller will be in the ell reading The Ox Cart Man by New Hampshire native Donald C. Hall. (You will also get to see some of the items that were brought to Portsmouth Market as described in this book!) Visit our Blacksmith Shoppe and watch as our Blacksmith swings his hammer and fires up the forge. Participate in the Big Yellow Barn Scavenger Hunt in our 104- foot long barn. Prizes awarded for those who finish! Tour the Historic Jones House and 1810 Tavern and see the place that five generations of the same family once called home. Stop by our Country Store to purchase a unique souvenir of your day on the farm! Luncheon items will be available for purchase.
