No acting background required — just curiosity and a willingness to play. The class is taught by Patrick McInnis, an experienced improv instructor who specializes in helping students build confidence, creativity, and strong foundational skills. This class is open to complete beginners and to those with some improv experience who love short-form games and want to strengthen their fundamentals! Through teaching and performance, Patrick McInnis has shared his love of improv with students and audiences across the US. His team The Third Thought has performed regularly in national festivals, and he has built vibrant improv communities in Boulder, Colorado, Tampa/St. Petersburg and now here in Carlsbad. Learners from elementary schools through assisted living facilities have played and learned with Patrick. Sunday, November 1, the Carlsbad Village Street Faire will bring thousands of visitors to the Village for one of the largest one-day street fairs in the country. The Faire runs from 8:00 AM–4:00 PM and will result in significant crowds, street closures, increased traffic, and limited parking throughout Carlsbad Village. If you plan to attend the Sunday matinee of AS YOU LIKE IT, please allow significant additional time for travel and parking. We strongly recommend arriving in the Village earlier than you normally would and considering alternate parking or transportation options.
