There is only one thing in Rose-Lynn’s life that has ever made sense: country music. Fresh out of jail for some past mistakes, free-spirited Rose-Lynn is bursting with raw talent & charisma, and ready to escape Glasgow, Scotland to chase her dream of being a country music singer. But her mother Marion has had enough, insisting that she settle down, ditch the fantasy, and focus on raising her two young kids. Rose-Lynn reluctantly agrees to take a cleaning job and finds an unlikely champion in her new boss Susannah, bringing her dream closer than ever. Now Rose-Lynn must decide if risking everything will really pave the road to Nashville. From Nicole Taylor, BAFTA-winning writer of the original film and global sensation One Day, and renowned director John Tiffany (Once), Wild Rose is an uplifting and heartwarming new musical about motherhood, dreams and finding your three chords and the truth. This US premiere production will feature songs from powerhouse female country artists including Brandi Carlile, Wynonna Judd, The Chicks, Patty Griffin, Caitlyn Smith, and more, alongside the film’s award-winning original song “Glasgow (No Place Like Home).” MADELINE BREWER is best known for her portrayal of Janine in Hulu’s Emmy Award and Golden Globe-winning series The Handmaid’s Tale, a role that earned her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. The sixth and final season of the series, based on Margaret Atwood’s best-selling novel, was released in April 2025 to wide critical acclaim. Madeline is currently in production on Paramount Pictures’ Possession, alongside Margaret Qualley and Callum Turner. Last year she appeared in the fifth and final season of Netflix’s YOU opposite Penn Badgley, portraying Bronte, an enigmatic and free-spirited playwright who joins Joe Goldberg’s bookstore staff and sparks in him a nostalgia for his former self, prompting him to question the life he has built. The season quickly rose to the number one spot on Netflix’s global charts. She previously starred in Lionsgate’s thriller Anniversary alongside Kyle Chandler, Phoebe Dynevor, Diane Lane, and Zoey Deutch. Madeline’s theater work includes her Broadway turn in the title role of the Tony Award-nominated revival of Becky Shaw, marking her Broadway debut. She previously earned acclaim for her performance as Sally Bowles in the Olivier Award-winning London production of Cabaret at the Playhouse Theatre, opposite Callum Scott Howells. She also recently completed an Off-Broadway run as Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors at the Westside Theatre and appeared in the Off-Broadway production of The Disappear, a new comedy from Audible Theater, alongside Kelvin Harrison Jr., Dylan Baker, and Hamish Linklater. Madeline will next be seen in the titular role of Rose in New York Theatre Workshop’s Off-Broadway production of Wild Rose. Additional credits include Focus Features’ Captive State, directed by Rupert Wyatt and featuring Ashton Sanders and Vera Farmiga; Hustlers, opposite Constance Wu and Jennifer Lopez; The Ultimate Playlist of Noise for Hulu and American High, alongside Keean Johnson; Space Oddity, directed by Kyra Sedgwick with Kevin Bacon and Alexandra Shipp, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival; I Live Here Now with Lucy Fry; the thriller Where Are You with Anthony Hopkins and Angela Sarafyan; as well as Flesh and Blood, directed by Mark Webber, which premiered at SXSW; Hedgehog with Ann Dowd, which screened at Cinequest; and Open Road’s Separation with Brian Cox and Rupert Friend. Madeline made her television debut as fan-favorite Tricia Miller in Netflix’s original comedy-drama series Orange is the New Black, created by Jenji Kohan. She also starred in Netflix’s critically acclaimed series Black Mirror, in the episode “Men Against Fire,” with Malachi Kirby and Michael Kelly. Other television roles include Miranda Cates in Eli Roth’s Hemlock Grove for Netflix, Julie Kelly in Bret Easton Ellis’ series The Deleted for Fullscreen, and guest roles on Grimm and Stalker.
