Meijer Day at the Zoo

The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park and Meijer invite you to join us for Meijer Day at the Zoo on Saturday, August 22nd, when the first 500 guests will receive FREE admission to the NEW Zoo, thanks to Meijer! This is a great opportunity to enjoy a “last hurrah” before the end of summer. Discounts will be available at the door starting at 9:00 a.m. when the zoo opens. “We’re so grateful to Meijer for their continued partnership and support,” says Carmen Murach, NEW Zoo Director. “Offering free admission to the first 500 guests provides an opportunity for us to reach people who may not otherwise be able to visit. We look forward to this fun celebration with our community.” While you’re here, keep your eyes peeled for some of the many babies born this year! The American Red Wolf pups are *almost* the same size as mom and dad now, but you can still tell them apart by their HUGE ears (which they haven’t quite grown into)! The baby snowy owls are getting their adult feathers but still have quite a bit of fluffy gray down, making them appear extra cute. Our young cotton-top tamarin, Ventisco, loves to bounce around his habitat, playfully interacting with his family members. Several new-to-the-zoo critters can also be seen, such as Odin the striped skunk, a family of red-eyed tree frogs, and Sunny, our new female wattled crane.
