About this event

FILM SCREENING & TALKBACK Thursday, May 28th at 7:00 PM In collaboration with the Uncommon Artist Residency at the Sound View Greenport, the North Fork Arts Center presents an evening of independent cinema featuring screenings of the feature film, Blue Sun Palace, and the animated short, Drago. Directed by Daniel Zvereff, Drago is the story of a young boy forced to leave his war-torn hometown to start a new life in the US with his mother. Drago offers a meditation on the passing of time and its cyclical nature, with a central focus on the lives of three generations and how they all impact one another.  Blue Sun Palace, directed by Constance Tsang, explores the unexpected bond that forms between two migrants in the Chinese community of Queens when tragedy strikes. Far from home, their lives intertwine as they grieve and search for familial connections. Following the screenings, the audience is invited to engage in an intimate Q&A session with both directors. The talkback will be moderated by Kara Hoblin, Director of the Uncommon Artist Residency.  Constance Tsang Constance Tsang is a Chinese American writer, director, and educator based in New York. Her first feature, Blue Sun Palace, was awarded the French Touch Prize by the jury at the 2024 Cannes Critics’ Week and was an official selection at New Directors/New Films 2025. She has been nominated by the Gotham Awards for Breakthrough Director as well as the Film Independent Spirit Awards for Best First Feature and Best First Screenplay. Daniel Zvereff Daniel Zvereff is a director, animator, and illustrator based in Brooklyn, New York.
