Barn Quilt Painting Workshop

@ BARN QUILT PAINT WORKSHOP Friday, August 21 10AM-2PM East Sandwich Grange Hall, Lower Level. (Ability to use stairs is a must for this workshop) 91 Old County Road, East Sandwich Barn quilt blocks were originally painted on the sides of barns, thus giving them their name. Come join a group of painters to create a Barn Quilt of your favorite quilt block on a 2’ x 2’ piece of plywood to hang indoors or outdoors. If you don’t have a favorite quilt block, or don’t know what one is, don’t fret. You can easily google quilt block ideas or you can get ideas from the instructor. Suggested quilt blocks are Friendship Star, Ohio Star, Churn Dash, Dutchman’s Puzzle, LeMoyne Star, Shoo Fly $20 members/$25.00 not-yet-members Register online, by phone, or mail your $25.00 check made out to the Nye Family of America Assoc. to: Nye Family of America Association, Inc. MATERIALS Supply List: -2’x2’ 1/2” exterior plywood – available at Home Depot or Lowes -Prime both sides of the board with water base Kilz primer, two coats, before class -Water base exterior paints in the colors you want for your block You can get small sample jars at paint stores or use paints you have at home (put in small jars) I used house paint colors to match my house. -2” foam brushes – one for each paint color Paint Stick -Green “Frog Tape” 1” wide – Extension Cord -X-acto or Snap blade knife -Hair Dryer -Yard stick or 24” ruler -Pencil and eraser Barn Quilt Painting Workshop Add to calendar Google Calendar iCalendar Outlook 365 Outlook Live
