Phillips About the book: Southern Gothic icon Flannery O’Connor once wrote, “Right now the whole world seems to be going through a dark night of the soul.” With this timeless observation in mind, 16 deviously talented authors banded together to examine the monsters that lurk within the shadows of the U.S. South’s dark night. In this anthology, the definition of a monster is open to interpretation; whether folkloric beast, gruesome creature, or cruel human killer. Sixteen dynamic authors set out to expose via prose the things that haunt us—and the annals of our collective history. Featuring stories by: Tony Sarrecchia, Galen David Bunting, William Sterling, David Powell, Matthew W. Quinn, Darrell Z. Grizzle, Bill Bridges, Leanna Riley, Marlena Frank, D.C. Phillips, Alex Tucker, Rhyne Armstrong, Dawn Major, Jessica Nettles, Zach Lamb, Vanessa Reid — There will also be live entertainment from Seance Magic with an immersive storytelling séance where spirits respond to those who dare to believe.
