Artist Talk: Anastasia Pelias | So is Life (Έτσι Είναι η Ζωή) Join us for a special afternoon with artist Anastasia Pelias at the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art! Explore her powerful multimedia exhibition So is Life (Έτσι Είναι η Ζωή) during an open gallery from 1–5 PM, with an artist talk at 2 PM in the IP Art Gallery. Stop by to experience this moving work and connect with the artist in person. This experiential, multi-sensory installation reflects on the life of the artist’s mother, Magdalene, and the broader forces that shaped her journey-patriarchy, migration, and the passage of time. Born on the island of Skopelos and later immigrating to the United States after World War II, Magdalene’s story unfolds through sound, scent, sculpture, video, and painting, transforming personal memory into a deeply immersive artistic environment. Guests are encouraged to experience the exhibition before and after the talk and engage in conversation with the artist. Museum galleries open Tuesday–Saturday, 10 AM–5 PM. Come experience a moving tribute to resilience, memory, and the enduring voices of women across generations.
