Fire Under The Oaks 4 Day Hands on workshop with Randy Brodnax May 1-4, 2026 Come join us for an exciting Alternative Firing Workshop at the Biloxi Center for Ceramics on the beautiful campus of the Ohr O’Keefe Museum of Art in historical Biloxi, MS. Legend of Southern Pottery: Randy Brodnax of Marble Falls, TX Is joining us to provide 4 full days of instruction: 2 days hands on wheel and 2 days of both traditional and modern alternative firing techniques. 2 Days of hands on throwing: Basic shapes to create creatures such as frogs, alligators, roosters etc. 2 Days of Firing: will include low-fire salt firing using aluminum and clay saggars, raku, mica & stannous chloride firing. In this hands-on workshop, Randy will share his wheel throwing and fast-fired pottery skills. He will demonstrate a variety of throwing, decorating and firing techniques. Firing will include horsehair, low-fire salt firing using aluminum and clay saggars, stannous chloride, and mica firing. This workshop is for all skills levels, don’t be intimidated if you are a beginner. There will be something new for everyone. Please bring 10 small (8″x8″) grogged bisque pieces (Soldate-60 clay) or some will be available for purchase when you register. (no plates, platters or bowls) Lunch will be provided, as well as snacks & beverages during the day. Refunds less credit card fees are available up to 2 weeks before the workshop begins. After that period, the fee is non-refundable. However, you may transfer your ticket to a friend.
