Printmaking Studio presents: Introduction to Etching Workshop #1 You too can make beautiful hand made etching prints the same way that Rembrandt made his famous masterworks! Learn how a line drawing on a metal plate is turned into a printing plate that can then be printed on paper. Learn how to etch your zinc plate, and pull a print from it on our press using traditional intaglio materials and methods under Master Printmaker, Michael Richardson. This single session workshop teaches how to ground a plate, draw on it, etch it, and print it. All materials for this workshop provided. This workshop is the first, in a series of sessions covering various traditional hand printmaking methods such as etching, aquatint, engraving, and relief printmaking. Introduction to Etching Workshop #1 is also required to participate in future Printmaking Studio Open Workshop Sessions held throughout the year to understand how to use the press and other equipment safely. Time: Friday 10am-1pm Instructor: Michael Richardson Level: Ages 18+ No prior experience necessary Refunds less credit card fees are available up to 7 days before the class begins. After that period, the fee is non-refundable. However, you may transfer your ticket to a friend.
