From Olive Free Library

Discover the history of the Esopus-Lenape, the Indigenous people whose ancestral homeland includes the Hudson Valley. Join Harv Hilowitz, Ulster County resident, researcher, and contributing scholar with the Hudson River Maritime Museum, for a fascinating exploration of the Esopus-Lenape, their ancestors and descendants, their relationship with the Mahicannituck (Hudson River), and their interactions with neighboring Indigenous nations and European colonists. From the Hudson Valley’s past to the present day, discover a story that is still unfolding. Questions and conversation encouraged!
